DTU, Technical University of Denmark is a Danish and internationally recognised technical university with extensive activities within the life sciences, including the food and veterinary areas.
The university has strong competencies within food safety, including zoonoses, nutrition and food quality throughout the entire farm-to-table chain and the resulting health effects among humans.

Within the veterinary area, the university’s core areas are infectious farm animal diseases and non-food-borne zoonoses, where the focus is on the disciplines virology, immunology, vaccinology, bacteriology, parasitology, pathology and epidemiology. In particular, the university works with diagnostics, diseases prevention and risk assessment. The research stretches all the way from molecular level and whole animals to populations and the global spread of disease.
